BMW M5 First Edition, the first limited edition: here are its equipment and prices for Spain
For all those who cannot wait for the launch of the new M5, BMW has prepared a first limited edition of 400 units called First Edition

We will still have to wait a few months to see the new BMW M5 on our roads, one of the most successful and sought-after performance saloons on the market, which we recently had the chance to see in person during its presentation at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show. But for all those who cannot wait any longer, BMW has prepared, as a preview of its commercial launch, a limited edition, called First Edition.
Unfortunately, this is not a limited edition with very exclusive features; it simply differs by having special finishes which, logically, end up affecting its final price. Yet its greatest appeal, without detracting from the spectacular nature of the model itself, is that this First Edition will have very limited production for the whole world: only 400 units.

On the outside, the BMW M5 First Edition will quickly catch your eye. The colour chosen for the bodywork is “Frozen Dark Red Metallic”, combined with the glossy black “BMW Individual” finish applied to the window surrounds, the front grille kidneys and the side gills. The exterior styling is completed with 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels in “Jet Black”, and the sport exhaust tailpipes, also in black.
Inside, the colours are also combined to create contrasts between themselves and with the exterior. The upholstery chosen by BMW is Merino leather in “Smoke White” with red contrast stitching, while the centre console features the “Piano Black” finish, completed by exclusive floor mats with white edging. The exclusive multifunction seats signed by M also stand out and, as it could not be otherwise, the “M5 First Edition” emblem presides over the centre console.

Mechanically there are no changes, and none are needed, since we already know that under its bonnet lies a 4,400 cc M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine, which delivers a magnificent 600 CV of power together with a maximum torque of 750 Nm. With this heart it accelerates to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, reaching a limited top speed of 250 km/h. Should that seem insufficient, you can always fit the M Driver’s Package, which takes it to a top speed of 305 km/h.
This engine is paired with the eight-speed M Steptronic automatic gearbox and, furthermore, it is worth noting that this is the first M5 to use the xDrive all-wheel-drive system, which can be disconnected for when you feel like causing some mischief. And as if that were not enough, despite the xDrive system, the new BMW M5 manages to be 75 kg lighter thanks to the use of carbon fibre and aluminium.
If you want one of these exclusive BMW M5 First Editions, you can place your order this autumn, while deliveries will begin in March 2018. Its price for the Spanish market is set at 158,845 euros.
