With the BMW 7 Series we can bring together in a single car all the luxury and German technology one could imagine, but if all of this seems insufficient, you can always turn to the BMW M760Li xDrive, a true beast of the asphalt signed by M Performance, whose official figures we will break down below. Hold on tight, because it is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

It is not an M model in the way we know the rest of the range, but the performance figures achieved by M Performance could well lead you to consider it as such. Starting from the very depths of the BMW M760Li xDrive, we find that it features the Executive Drive Pro chassis, which reduces body movements with the help of the active suppression system, something very useful if this long-wheelbase version wants to move nimbly along winding roads.

Sitting on the chassis is its heart, a powerful 6.6-litre V12 petrol engine with TwinPower Turbo technology, with a displacement of 6,600 cc, delivering a power output of 610 CV and a torque of 800 Nm. Power is transmitted through an 8-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox, with sporty settings from M Performance. With these spectacular figures it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds, with a limited top speed of 250 km/h, although if you add the M Driver’s Package this rises to 305 km/h. With this, it is no surprise that its consumption is rated at 12.8 litres per 100 km.

To keep all this power deployment stable, use is made of a whole array of driver assistance systems, so it is no surprise that the xDrive all-wheel-drive system is employed, although rear-wheel drive is still prioritised, with the power distributed to the wheels according to slip values at any given moment. It also features active four-wheel steering, very direct and precise, which additionally ensures minimal effort from the driver when turning at low speeds. And you will find all the latest assistance technology already introduced with the new 7 Series, such as the Driving Assistant Plus system, the Speed Limit Info function, or the traffic jam assistant, among many others.

The exterior gives way to the aggressive character typical of the M Performance packs, with larger air intakes on the front bumper, side skirts, 20-inch alloy wheels in Cerium Grey and various decorative details in the same colour, all finished off with the M Performance dual-tailpipe exhaust system. But if all of this seems too aggressive, you can opt at no extra cost for the Excellence version, in which all the aesthetic details of the M pack are removed and the wheel spokes become polished and shiny, all to achieve a more luxurious look.

When we open its doors, the interior invites us to enjoy a design and quality materials, as is to be expected in a saloon of this kind, although in this BMW M760Li xDrive occupants will find various details bearing the M logo and the V12 badge that make it clear to them which version they are sitting in. The high-quality leather, the fine wood in glossy black with a shiny finish, and the exclusive speedometer for this version are features that will attract a lot of attention.

Is there anything else this BMW M760Li xDrive can offer? I don’t think so: here all the characteristics come together in one, and now all that remains is to find out its price and when it will be available. But one thing is certain: it will not be within everyone’s reach.
