BMW M8 Gran Coupé Concept, world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show
BMW makes its debut at the Geneva Motor Show with the world premiere of the elegant and sporty BMW M8 Gran Coupé Concept saloon, which will be unveiled in 2019.

One of the cars that BMW is showing exclusively at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show is the BMW M8 Gran Coupé Concept. In this way, the brand previews what the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé and the BMW M8 Gran Coupé will be, which will be presented during 2019 and will complete the BMW 8 Series family. What is immediately apparent is an aggressive exterior design with fluid lines along the entire bodywork. This high-performance grand saloon represents BMW’s new design language, with expressive surfaces that accentuate its dynamism, creating a sporty and elegant coupé silhouette.
At the front, the characteristic BMW kidney grille stands out, its elements joined by an uninterrupted frame that creates a single, large-scale unit. The golden frame surrounding it adds an air of exclusivity to the front end. On the headlights, the familiar lighting technology from the BMW M8 GTE endurance racing car offers a dynamic hexagonal interpretation of the four-eye front characteristic of BMW, combining elements from the most modern motorsport and exclusive interior details. Meanwhile, the large air intakes in carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) direct air exactly where it is needed.

The aerodynamics have been carefully refined, as can be seen in every element of the BMW M8 Gran Coupé Concept. It features a carbon fibre reinforced plastic roof, a low centre of gravity, and optimised exterior mirrors. At the rear, the large integrated bodywork spoiler, the oversized air outlets, the diffuser and the stylised optics with black glass stand out. The exterior ensemble is completed by the Salève Vert paint, which produces an effect that shifts between green and greyish blue depending on the light. This is combined with various golden details on the window edges, the front grille, the wheels and also the exhaust tailpipes.
Pending further details from the brand (engines and equipment) and its launch next year, we will have to make do for now with this world premiere, which the brand is making on the occasion of such a special event as the Geneva Motor Show.
