BMW will showcase a technology that will allow its car bodies to change colour
The Bavarian brand will present at CES the new BMW iX M60 along with a revolutionary technology that will allow the car’s colour to be changed with just the push of a button.

The German manufacturer never stops innovating, and at the upcoming CES it will use the stage to unveil a new technology that will allow the car’s body colour to be changed with a simple touch. In addition, we will be able to see the new BMW iX M60 up close. The surprises don’t stop there: the Bavarian house will also show “a cutting-edge cinema experience inside the car”.
Next January, the CES will take place and will host the presentation of numerous technologies. The future BMW iX M60 will be based on the BMW iX xDrive50, and will feature a 111.5 kWh battery pack and a dual-motor configuration. This new member could be much more powerful, since its sibling offers 516 CV. Everything points to the new model having very pronounced wheel arches and specific wheels.

BMW will showcase a technology that will change the colour of the car bodies of BMW
We are not talking about a paint that shifts tone. The German brand has assured us that this technology “changes the exterior colour of a vehicle with just the touch of a button“. Although for now we don’t know how it will work, we think it could be an interesting idea, since it would allow owners to change colour purely on a whim.
Furthermore, BMW has hinted that we will be able to enjoy “a cinema-like experience in the cutting-edge automobile”. This claim is also shrouded in mystery, and it is possible that the German manufacturer will turn its curved screen into a much larger one. This is plausible, since the current setup consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch infotainment screen.

Although for now the features sound very concept-like, the real revolution will be the presentation of the future BMW iX M60. The Bavarian brand has said nothing about timing, but it has confirmed that it will become “the first fully electric performance vehicle of the BMW M“.
This new member of the performance division, BMW M, will produce more than 600 CV, which represents a considerable improvement over the 523 CV BMW iX xDrive. These figures could allow the new SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 4.4 seconds. We can also expect considerably more aggressive design cues. It is possible it will incorporate some specific details like those we have seen on the BMW i4 M50. Will we have to wait until next January to learn all the news?
