Brabus does it again: all the power goes to the 850 6.0 Biturbo

Brabus has launched an update based on the Mercedes AMG S63, in which it has not only added a kit of carbon fibre parts, but has also improved the model’s already considerable engine to raise the power output to 850 CV

The customisation brand Brabus is one of those launching powerful and very attractive versions of Mercedes models. The latest model to come out of its workshops was seen during the 24 Hours of Le Mans not many days ago, and we finally have a complete image gallery to look at it calmly and at leisure. It is a powerful, elegant version with all the touches that Brabus adds, which makes it something to take into account. Its name? Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo.

This model is based on the Mercedes AMG S63 Convertible and, above all, they have worked on the engine’s power, a 5.5-litre V8 block that they have managed to increase to 6.0 litres and that has received an update of parts and characteristics. Engine components have been replaced and the efficiency of its components has been increased to deliver more power and improve efficiency.

All these modifications allow a considerable power increase, taking the 585 CV the engine normally delivers up to 850 CV. Maximum torque also rises from 550 Nm to 1,450 Nm. These figures bear witness to the changes, modifications and work carried out on the car to turn a remarkable car into a spectacular one.

More power with greater control

Brabus has increased the power of the Mercedes AMG S63, also adding an aerodynamic kit All that power is sent to the wheels through the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system and a seven-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 3.5 seconds, a figure that is 0.4 seconds faster than the basic S63, and it reaches 200 km/h in 9.4 seconds. The top speed of the model is “only” limited to 350 km/h, and that is due to tyre limitations, not its mechanics.

The engine is not the only thing that has changed in this version. The suspension has been adjusted to lower the car by up to 15 mm and it is optimised for use with ultra-low-profile tyres, 55/35 ZR 21 at the front and 295/30 ZR 21 at the rear axle, although 22-inch wheels fitted with 255/30 ZR 22 front and 295/25 ZR 22 rear tyres are optionally available.

To finish off the model, a kit of carbon fibre parts has been added to the bodywork to give it a more dynamic and attractive look. The front splitter, rear diffuser and rear spoiler, along with the external mirror housings, are made from this material. Furthermore, and as is only to be expected, Brabus includes a good number of optional extras that raise its already high-end status.

The good news is that you can choose this car as a fully finished vehicle or upgrade an Mercedes AMG S63 with this package. And enjoy it like never before thanks to this update that completely transforms the car. Surprising, right?
