Britain will be able to conquer the Arctic once again with the Toyota Arctic Hilux AT35

The Toyota Hilux is a very well-known pick-up with a long track record, but it is not just a powerful van. This model has been turned into a true off-road machine for the most extreme terrain, such as the Arctic, thanks to its collaboration with Arctic Trucks. That partnership goes back several years, although we will soon see its latest configuration.

Reportedly, the first collaboration between the two companies resulted in an almost indestructible vehicle that could take on anything. Fifty years later, this new version arrives and aims to get British drivers excited and reconnect with the spirit of adventure they had in the 19th century. The Arctic ice is waiting for the brave who dare to drive this very special pick-up.

This conversion is approved by Toyota, so it carries all the features of any HiLux, including the warranty. It will go on sale in the UK in a few months, once it is presented at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, and will be enjoyed by the most adventurous drivers.

Compared with the traditional model, it is fitted with 35-inch off-road wheels that allow it to move freely over Arctic ice. Ground clearance has been increased by 25% to give it more freedom of movement. That said, although it has been equipped to handle the harsh demands of Arctic driving, the engine has not been modified.

This means it will have the same engine as the other Hilux variants in the UK. The available unit is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder, delivering a considerable 148 CV, enough for any journey you want to make on ice.
