Bugatti is preparing a successor to the Veyron for 2015

Bugatti has been working for some time on a hypothetical successor to what has become, by right, one of the benchmarks in the automotive world, the Veyron.
We may see the results of this work in 2015, the year in which the second generation of this hypercar is scheduled to be unveiled.
What we do know, thanks to the words of Bugatti president Wolfgang Schreiber, is that there will be a second generation of the Veyron that will feature new levels of power and performance. We are starting from a vehicle that has produced outputs of around 1,200 CV, which means a Herculean task to build a worthy successor.
One of the theories gaining the most traction in recent months is the possible arrival of a hybrid powertrain that would make it possible to break the 1,500 CV barrier, a truly mind-boggling figure. With this, the top speed set as a target would be around 435 km/h, which would allow the Veyron to become once again the fastest production vehicle in the world.

It seems that the VW Group (owner of Bugatti) wants to keep the combustion engine architecture, with 16 cylinders. The new Veyron will probably be more environmentally friendly and more economical for its driver’s wallet, as long as the accelerator pedal is not pressed all the way down.
As for production, it is also very possible that it will be limited to a relatively low number of units, something that was already done with the current generation, which nevertheless did not sell as well as the brand would have liked, especially since it is a vehicle with a strong image component that, at least in this first generation, brought no economic benefit to the VW Group.
