Bugatti presented the Grand Sport in India at a price of... €2,600,000

India, China, Russia and several other parts of Asia have become key markets for almost every carmaker in the world, as well as for exotic manufacturers such as Bugatti. The 16.4 Grand Sport will be sold in India at an astronomical price of 160 million rupees, or €2,600,000 at current exchange rates.
When the fabulous Bugatti Veyron first arrived, we were all amazed at its price for Europe, and the price in India is no less shocking. The brand did not set that price on a whim, but because of the high import duties the car has to pay. No less than 110% more than its selling price.
In India, which has already become the world’s third-largest economy, the gap between rich and poor is far more pronounced than in other countries. Yet the segment of the population that could afford a Veyron earns about a quarter of the country’s annual income. Fewer than 100 people.
At least those who have the privilege of spending nearly three million on a Veyron should know how to make good use of the car, and we won’t start seeing Veyrons wrecked in India as time goes by.
