BYD ATTO 2: the new electric SUV arriving in Spain with two battery versions and prices around €30,000
Five stars and 96% efficiency. The BYD ATTO 2 debuts as the most promising electric SUV of 2025, with a range of 312 km and prices below €30,000
The world’s leading plug-in vehicle maker, BYD, continues its unstoppable expansion into the European market with an announcement that promises to revolutionise the electric SUV segment. In a recent statement, the Chinese brand confirmed the launch of the BYD ATTO 2, a compact SUV in the B segment that will reach European roads in the first quarter of 2025, preceded by its official debut at the Brussels Motor Show in January. We already told you about its arrival when the rumours began in June, and now, yes, its arrival on the European market is confirmed.

5 stars Green NCAP
The BYD ATTO 2 has earned the prestigious five-star rating in the Green NCAP report, an independent body that assesses the energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions of cars. With an overall score of 96%, this electric SUV positions itself as one of the most sustainable vehicles on the market, further consolidating BYD’s reputation as a leader in clean technologies and electric mobility.
Green NCAP’s analysis, which considers the entire life cycle of the car (from energy production to its use on the road), highlighted in particular the ATTO 2’s performance in cold conditions. Thanks to its standard heat pump, the air conditioning system works optimally, reducing warm-up time and improving the user experience, even in adverse climates.

Necessary technology at a fair price
Designed to combine versatility, accessibility and efficiency, the BYD ATTO 2 features a front-mounted electric motor of 130 kW (177 CV) and a WLTP-homologated range of 312 km on the combined cycle. Weighing just over 1,500 kg, this compact SUV promises agile and efficient performance, ideal for European cities and short trips. The Yuan Up is sold in China with two battery sizes: one of 32 kWh and another of 45.1 kWh, rather small, but its range is still competitive.
Among its standout features are a series of smart technologies that improve connectivity and comfort, elements that will be revealed in greater detail at its official presentation. BYD assures that the ATTO 2 will be its most affordable 100% electric SUV in Europe, opening the door to a broader segment of consumers interested in sustainable mobility.

A step forward for BYD
The ATTO 2 is part of BYD’s ambitious strategy to strengthen its presence in Europe, a key market for the transition to electrification. The company had previously announced that it will launch six new models throughout 2025, including the Dolphin Mini, a city car based on the popular Chinese Seagull. With the ATTO 2, BYD expands its portfolio into the compact SUV segment, one of the most in-demand among European consumers.
