The entry-level model in the Cadillac range is back in the spotlight this year. The ATS Coupé grabbed attention in early 2014, when it was first unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show and then in Europe at the Geneva Motor Show in March. A few months later, it was the turn of the four-door body, which has just been updated to resemble the Coupé.

The new front end is precisely the only notable change to its exterior design. The grille now features the redesigned logo of the brand, which is no longer circular but trapezoidal and smaller, and the bumper has a longer lower grille instead of three separate ones, as well as daytime LED strips slightly narrower than those of the previous model.

Two new options are added to the list of body colours: Crystal White and metallic Dark Adriatic Blue. The cabin hardly changes in almost any respect, except for new upholstery and more colour combinations. In terms of mechanics, the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, the only one available in Europe, keeps its 276 horsepower but gains 14 % more maximum torque, just like the Coupé.

The new ATS saloon now offers up to 400 Nm, almost 50 Nm more than before, which will allow it to go below the current six seconds it needs to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. Cadillac has also completed the model’s technology equipment with standard keyless entry and other optional features such as a wireless phone charger, 4G connectivity and Wi-Fi, or a read-aloud function for text messages.
