Changes coming to make the Kia Sportage more powerful and attractive

The new Kia Sportage was unveiled a few months ago and now receives a new automatic gearbox, which will be fitted to the version using the 1.7-litre CDRi engine. It will help improve the efficiency of this unit by managing the engine’s power output better and reducing its fuel consumption.
This new seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox will be available on grades 2 and 3 of the model, offering some advantages in terms of consumption and emissions, which makes it very appealing for the versions that get it. The model will not only gain this addition, but will also have a range of trim levels included in the GT-Line S line, with higher equipment levels that enhance the model’s capabilities.

This equipment will include a parking assistant, a heated steering wheel, bi-xenon headlights and even headlight washers to keep them clean and working. The new gearbox will also be present in other engines, such as the 1.6-litre T-GDi engine, although the 2.0-litre CRDi version will make do with a six-speed gearbox, also automatic.
Until now there was a version called “First Edition“, which represented that first version of the model, but it will now be replaced by a new edition named XK-5, which will also feature new safety and driver-assistance equipment. For example, it will include an electronic parking brake, two-tone leather upholstery and a wireless smartphone charging system. This variant will sit above the current top-of-the-range XK-4.
This will be offered only with the 2.0-litre CRDi diesel engine, paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox. The updates also include changes to the infotainment system, plus connectivity with Apple and Android to keep pace with what the rest of the models in these ranges offer. An upgrade that will suit a model that enjoys good health and the preference of buyers across Europe.
