Citroën and Rip Curl renew their partnership with the Ami Buggy Vision
Citroën and Rip Curl renew their partnership with a concept based on the Ami Buggy that celebrates leisure and nature while making life easier for surfers

For those who are not familiar with it, Rip Curl is an Australian company mainly dedicated to selling products for surfers, as well as clothing and accessories. For almost 10 years, it has had a partnership with Citroën that brings us practically every year special editions based on a model from the French brand, equipped with some kind of decoration for the occasion and increased standard equipment.
This partnership began in 2016 with the then C4 Cactus Rip Curl, followed by other less striking models such as the C4 Picasso Rip Curl from 2018. However, the king without a doubt is the C3 Aircross, with three special editions, the latest being the one presented in 2022. Of course, the Berlingo could not be missing either, a model that also fits well with the spirit of leisure, free time and adventure that Rip Curl promotes. For this new edition, the chosen model is very different from Citroën’s catalogue and represents these values perfectly, especially among younger people: the Ami Buggy.

The Citroën Ami is a peculiar vehicle whichever way you look at it, and its Ami Buggy version is even more so. But with this Ami Buggy Rip Curl Vision concept, both brands have gone one step further, imagining, as they put it, a vehicle that embodies the surfer spirit in its most authentic form: practical, robust and ready for adventure but which, thanks to Rip Curl’s experience in the world of surfing, is also optimised to meet the needs of surfers.

To achieve this, they have started with a design inspired by the world of surfing, presenting the Ami Buggy Rip Curl Vision with a body painted in a violet shade, combined with a white practicable roof as contrast, while the roof canvas and the spoiler are painted black. Matching the roof, white decals have been installed on the rear quarter windows and on the upper part of the wheel arches, plus a LED light bar for greater visibility. Continuing with the roof, it has anchor points on it as well as on the side for carrying a surfboard.

Inside, it also features design elements such as padded seat cushions printed with motifs evoking the Rip Curl universe, and storage trays on the dashboard in violet, as on the exterior. Beyond design, as we mentioned, the Ami Buggy Rip Curl Vision has been equipped with solutions that make surfers’ lives easier, including a portable shower and a changing mat made from recycled surf suits, which are therefore water-repellent, plus a waterproof bag for storing wet clothes and a folding, waterproof drawer on the passenger side.

The list of accessories does not end here. To further highlight the world of practical leisure, a surfboard has also been created with the same design as the seats, signed as Citroën x Rip Curl, along with a wax comb shaped like the Ami, a glass globe designed by artist Charlotte Bourrus, a Bluetooth speaker in the same colour as the Ami Buggy Rip Curl Vision, and a special keyring.
The Citroën Ami Buggy Rip Curl Vision will be on display from 4 to 8 November, on the occasion of the international finals of the Rip Curl GromSearch, held in the French town of Hossegor, very close to the Spanish border, an event sponsored by Citroën
