Citroën C-Zero and Peugeot iOn now from €23,551

PSA joins the price cut for electric cars, and now we have the Citroën C-Zero or Peugeot iOn from €23,551.

It seems a price war has broken out among electric cars. Until recently the standard rate was around €30,000, yet now they are closer to €20,000. Only today we announced that Renault cut the price of the Fluence Z.E. and the Kangoo Z.E.

Well, now it’s Citroën and Peugeot that are cutting the price of their C-Zero and iOn, which are available from €23,551 (grants and taxes included). But if you are also a company or self-employed, the final price excluding VAT is more attractive and comes down to €18,700.

The good part of PSA’s two electric cars is that the battery does not need to be rented like it is on other vehicles Renault, but on the other hand, it is still an expensive price for a car that is less than 4 metres long and that is limited in range, since the C-Zero or iOn only reach 150 km (and that is being optimistic).

Even so, I think this move by the French brands is very positive, because at least now they are setting prices at a more affordable level, and logically so.
