Citroën C5 CrossTourer: off the beaten track with the C5

Citroën is jumping on the bandwagon of crossovers based on saloons, a type of vehicle that has been growing in popularity in recent times.
That is why it has announced the launch of the C5 CrossTourer, a model designed to compete with the Opel Insignia Country Tourer, the Skoda Octavia Scout or the Peugeot RXH.
Based on the family version of the C5, the CrossTourer comes with a distinctive, more rugged and adventurous look. The exterior is enhanced with details such as matt grey roof bars, 18″ alloy wheels with a specific design, or underbody protectors in brushed aluminium. In addition, the bodywork sits 15 mm higher than on standard versions.

This last detail is one of the most characteristic features of the CrossTourer, as this more rugged edition comes fitted as standard with the Hydractive III intelligent suspension, one of the best systems in terms of comfort and versatility.
With a specific programme for this model, the CrossTourer enjoys the aforementioned 15 mm of extra height -up to 70 km/h-. In addition, up to 40 km/h the height rises a further 4 cm, and as the final touch, it is possible to increase the total height up to 6 cm above normal, provided the speed does not exceed 10 km/h.

This edition can be combined with the Millenium and Exclusive trim levels. To distinguish it from conventional C5s, the CrossTourer will come as standard with leather upholstery, a driver’s seat with massage function and intelligent traction control with specific off-road functions.
