CUPRA León e-Hybrid, the 204 CV hybrid variant, now entering production

After getting to know the version of the CUPRA León e-Hybrid with 250 CV of power, a new 204 CV variant is entering production, somewhat more restrained but offering features that meet what is required of this model. Slightly less power that does not take away from the driving excitement of this model, so important for the Spanish brand.

The CUPRA León e-Hybrid 204 CV version is powered by a 1.4 TSI petrol combustion engine producing 150 CV, working together with an 85 kW electric motor, equivalent to 115 CV. Working together they deliver a combined total of 204 CV and a maximum torque of 350 Nm, which this version of the hybrid offers. The electric motor draws its energy from a 13 kWh lithium-ion battery.

Power and torque go directly to the front axle, through the six-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission. With these characteristics it manages to reach 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and has a top speed of 220 km/h.

With the electric motor and the battery’s energy, the car can run in fully electric mode for a total of 63 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. As for charging the battery, you will need a 3.6 kW Wallbox-type charger, with which it will reach 80% charge in three and a half hours. With a standard domestic charger, charging time is five hours.

As for emissions, they are reduced to 26-29 g/km on the WLTP cycle. In terms of bodywork, there will be two types. The first will be a five-door and the second is the Sportstourer estate. This variant joins the CUPRA León 5-door, CUPRA León Sportstourer and CUPRA Formentor variants, all with e-HYBRID options of 204 CV and 245 CV.

With these models the brand now has six hybrid models, and they will not be the last. The CUPRA León e-Hybrid 204 CV enters production this very week and will soon be available at the brand’s dealerships.
