Cupra Tavascan, are you there?

Are we looking at the first image of the future Cupra Tavascan? The long-awaited model from Cupra has appeared in a video published by Cupra and Rosalía. The video goes one step further than the other car adverts, which makes it very special. Specifically, the future Cupra SUV can be seen from the side and rear, and from what we have seen, the brand has been very faithful to the concept.

We can see this above all in the LED light clusters , which are now much larger and more voluminous, and in the boot lid, which is also more muscular thanks to the addition of a new “spoiler”. The lower part of the rear seems to have very little in common with the concept, but that is not a bad thing. While the concept had a rear bumper with elements that flowed towards a central section, the production SUV’s rear bumper is more traditional, although it still seems to feature a fairly aggressive diffuser.

Cupra unveils the new Tavascan

It is true that the video does not show the future Cupra SUV from the front, but we suspect it will also undergo some changes compared with the concept we saw a few months ago. We are sure the new Cupra Tavascan will feature larger LED light clusters and a smaller bumper.

Beyond the image we have been able to see of the future SUV, we know the Cupra Tavascan is developed on the MEB platform of the Volkswagen group. In addition, it could share its drivetrain with the Volkswagen ID.5 GTX and feature a battery pack with a capacity of 77 kWh, which powers two electric motors to produce almost 300 CV of power.

It could also accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under six seconds and cover more than 490 kilometres on a single charge. What will Cupra surprise us with? We will have to wait a little longer.
