CUPRA unveils a new plug-in hybrid SUV with a 100 km electric range
CUPRA will launch a new plug-in hybrid compact SUV in 2024, with an electric range of up to 100 km

CUPRA is already preparing its offensive of new models, which will include a 4.5-metre-long compact SUV set to complement the current CUPRA Formentor, with very similar dimensions. There is not much information about it, and the new car barely reveals its silhouette hidden behind a cover. But everything suggests that we could be talking about CUPRA’s counterpart to the future SEAT Ateca,
What is very interesting is the announcement made by CUPRA about the engines this new SUV will have. Besides mild-hybrid variants, a new generation of plug-in hybrid propulsion system is previewed, which will allow this SUV to travel up to 100 km in electric mode. For reference, the current Cupra Formentor PHEV barely reaches 60 km.

Another of the few details CUPRA has revealed about this model, whose production will start in 2024, is that it will be manufactured in Hungary, at the Györ plant where the Audi Q3 Sportback is currently built.
When it reaches the market, this new SUV will join a range that already includes the CUPRA Formentor, the recently launched CUPRA Born and the CUPRA Tavascan.
