Do you want a Porsche 918 Spyder? You can still get one

One of the main problems with limited-edition supercars is precisely that: how limited their production run is, and how difficult it is to get hold of one, even when money is no object.

The Porsche 918 Spyder, the German brand’s hybrid supercar, is for now not in the same situation. If you have 800,000 € and want to spend it on one of the most advanced vehicles of recent times, you still have time to get one.

Let us recall that the Porsche 918 Spyder is still a prototype, but the potential buyers who have been able to drive it have been so captivated that the vast majority have not been able to resist buying it. This vehicle is powered by a new powertrain consisting of a petrol V8 engine producing more than 570 CV, along with two electric motors powered by a lithium-ion battery.

While high-performance hybrid vehicles are starting to appear on the market, it is not so common to find one that is also plug-in like this Porsche, able to travel up to 30 km in purely electric mode while also offering all-wheel drive. All this power (more than 780 CV in total) is managed through the famous PDK dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

One area where the Porsche 918 Spyder stands out from any other car is its efficiency. Thanks to hyper-intelligent energy management, it is able to homologate an average consumption of just 3.1 litres per 100 km, which makes it the vehicle with the best efficiency-to-performance ratio on the market, to the point that it can lap the old Nürburgring circuit in 7 minutes 14 seconds, making it one of the fastest vehicles on the legendary track.
