Every motor enthusiast dreams of being able to access a circuit and enjoy their car’s performance at its absolute peak. However, there is one in particular that every car fan pays tribute to and celebrates on countless occasions. Yes, we are referring to the iconic Nürburgring circuit, a place where some of the most prestigious races in the world have been held and where hundreds of drivers gather every day to enjoy their vehicle and set the best time possible in the Green Hell.

You’re sure to identify with us when we refer to the Nürburgring as the circuit of dreams, but the idea of travelling all the way to Germany dampens the desire to visit its facilities. However, today we bring you a guide on prices, accommodation and vehicle rental so you can drive without having to bring your own steed.

What is the Nürburgring and where is it located?

The first thing we need to know before setting off on our journey to the Nürburgring is where it is and exactly what it is. It is one of the most iconic and admired circuits, both by manufacturers and by motorsport enthusiasts. It opened in 1927 in Nürburg, a German village located in the Ahrweiler district.

Its main purpose was to host motorcycle and Formula 1 racers on its asphalt for various races, such as the German Grand Prix. Over time, the Nürburgring has opened its doors to all kinds of visitors and has become the ideal place for manufacturers to test their latest creations and for every enthusiast to come along with their car.

Who can drive on the asphalt of the Green Hell and how much does it cost?

The Nürburgring has gone from being an exclusive circuit for competitions to a destination for anyone who owns a vehicle and has the skill needed to tackle the demanding layout of the Nordschleife. Thanks to this, anyone can access it as long as no race is taking place and weather conditions allow entry.

However, access to the circuit has a price, which can vary depending on many factors. The most basic entry is available for 25 euros if you visit the track from Monday to Friday with your own vehicle. If your visit takes place at the weekend, the entry price rises to 30 euros.

At the same time, the circuit takes all enthusiasts into account and that is why they offer an annual pass for the most regular drivers. This is valid for the entire season and costs 1,900 euros, and it is designed for car enthusiasts who live in Germany or in the vicinity of the German circuit. Even so, the Ring offers many variants, and the base price can rise depending on whether we decide to drive a rental car or one provided by the circuit itself, such as a Audi R8.

I want to go to the Nürburgring but not with my own car, what can I do?

Many times it is easier for us to travel by other means of transport such as the plane, a very sensible option if our intention is to visit the Nürburgring without being residents of Germany. However, the problem is that, by choosing this means of travel, we will not be able to drive the German track in our own vehicle.

Over time, several companies have found a solution to this dilemma, since for years we have found many companies dedicated to vehicle rental for driving at the Nürburgring. Among these, we will find all kinds of models prepared to hit the track and adapted both to our financial needs and to our driving abilities.

The rental fleet can range from a Suzuki Swift or a Ford Fiesta ST to a Nissan GT-R or a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. In this way, all customers can enjoy the route around the Nürburgring without needing to bring their own vehicle and get behind the wheel of a car prepared to meet the demands of a circuit .

For this, we can turn to companies such as RSRnurburg, which have extensive experience in car rental. Their most modest model is a Ford Fiesta ST, which is available from 89 euros per lap with the basic package and rises to 139 euros if you add fuel and several laps of the circuit. However, we must be careful in the event of an accident, since being a rental car does not exempt us from having to pay the amount of money equivalent to the damage caused.

Even so, there is a safer option for attendees who do not yet feel ready to tackle the Nürburgring track: the Ring-Taxi. This option gives you the opportunity to ride as a passenger in a supercar, which will be driven by a professional driver who will take us at full speed through the Green Hell.

If we opt for this option, we can enjoy the experience of riding in a Lamborghini Huracán Performante from 279 euros. Other models of the same calibre are also available, such as a McLaren 540C, a Porsche 911 GT3 or an Mercedes SLS. In this way we will not only enjoy the driving of a professional driver, but we will also gain prior knowledge of the track to immerse ourselves in the adventure of getting behind the wheel during our lap of the Nürburgring asphalt.

Everything is ready to drive at the Nürburgring, but where can I stay during my visit?

Around the Nürburgring circuit a wonderful ecosystem has been created for motor enthusiasts, where you will find not only many supercars and car rental companies, but also hotels in the vicinity of the circuit with a clear car-themed atmosphere.

The Lindner Hotel Eifeldorf Grüne Hölle Nürburgring is one of the most tempting options, as it is a welcoming 3-star hotel located near the Nürburgring. However, the price can vary greatly depending on the time of year and the days of your stay.

Another hotel available is the Hotel am Tiergarten, which also has a 3-star rating, and its location is perfect for motor enthusiasts with a clear intention of conquering the Nürburgring with their vehicles.

The Nürburgring circuit has gained great fame over the years, which has led thousands of enthusiasts to visit its facilities, something that in turn has generated significant tourism. Today its visitors have many facilities to enjoy both their stay in Germany and the circuit track, whether in their own car or in a rented supercar.
