DS Automobiles previews its next fully electric model: a coupé with SUV looks
DS Automobiles will unveil at the end of the year the model it is now previewing, a fully electric car inspired by SUVs with a coupé body

DS Automobiles is another brand that has decided to bet on converting its range to fully electric models, something the French have been doing gradually by adding both fully electric and hybrid powertrains to their line-up before making the switch to all-electric. This step is clearly getting closer, and the first to arrive for this new era at DS will be an SUV-inspired coupé-bodied model.
For now the details are sparse and, as is usually the case with these announcements, the brand wants to keep some mystery around it, although DS has confirmed that the official presentation will take place before the end of the year with all the relevant data, and that the model will also be shown “undressed”, since for the moment this upcoming electric model from DS appears under dense camouflage inspired by the colours of the DS E-Tense FE25 that the brand uses in the Formula E World.

All that is left now is to judge it and study it through the photographs DS has released, which show a model that aims to recover the dynamism of the most elegant SUVs while adapting to its fully electric nature. To do so, a coupé body has been chosen, whose design has been tested in the wind tunnel until achieving a magnificent drag coefficient of 0.24.
To reach this goal, the still-prototype car features a front end with active air intakes in the lower part of the bumper to help cooling without compromising aerodynamics, while the bonnet sits in a lower position, from which a rather steeply raked windscreen rises so the roofline drops smoothly. This leads to a rear with sculpted fins and a three-dimensional vertical-design light cluster that also helps the airflow.

Thanks to this work, DS announces that the new model has a range of 750 kilometres on the WLTP cycle, which is not bad considering it will be a large vehicle, as shown by the generous wheelbase it has. As we can see, this new DS model shows promise; we will have to wait a little longer to find out whether the French manufacturer’s proposal is really worth it.
