Dubai adds a Genesis GV80 to the police fleet
Dubai police have acquired some of the most coveted cars in the world and have just added the Genesis GV80, the SUV from the Korean brand, to their service.

Dubai police have done it again. Yesterday we announced that the Guardia Civil had added 67 units of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio to its service, an SUV more than capable of meeting the demands placed on these police vehicles. But today we travel to the Gulf country and see how the latest addition to that fleet, the envy of almost the whole world, has been unveiled.
The Genesis GV80, a car from the high-performance car brand of Hyundai, has just joined all the great supercars that patrol the streets of the Dubai capital. It is no ordinary car, and many police forces would love to have a vehicle with this kind of power for their service.

Police livery, but without emergency lights
The Genesis GV80 of the Dubai police has received the green and white livery characteristic of the police, becoming one of the cars that can be seen on duty. Curiously, the emergency light bar has not been installed. This already suggests that the use this vehicle will be put to is not typical of police service.
It will be used as reinforcement in traffic operations and for other services such as transporting people and tasks that do not require active participation in pursuits and other high-risk actions. However, given that it is a Genesis GV80 and knowing the car’s characteristics, it will not be unusual to see it speeding through the streets and roads of Dubai.
There are three variants of the GV80 on the market. The first uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 300 CV and a maximum torque of 422 Nm. There is a version of this model with all-wheel drive, and a third, called 3.5T, which uses a 3.5-litre engine, offers 375 CV and a maximum torque of 530 Nm, with seating for seven occupants.
