Dubai Police adds a Aston Martin One-77 to its patrol fleet

Dubai One-77

While in some countries such as Spain we are in the midst of a major economic crisis, in other parts of the world such as Dubai money is not a problem. After acquiring a Lamborghini Aventador, a Ferrari FF, a Bentley Continental GT and a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT, the Dubai Police has expanded its patrol cars with the recent arrival of the exclusive Aston Martin One-77.

The English supercar, a limited series of 77 units, was purchased from a well-known luxury car dealership based in Dubai. Furthermore, the unit that will one day patrol the streets of the United Arab Emirates belongs to the Q Series, an even more exotic variant of the model of which only seven units were built. It differs from the rest through different exterior and interior finishes.

Under the bonnet, the Aston Martin One-77 features a huge naturally aspirated 7.3-litre V12 engine capable of delivering 750 CV of power to the rear wheels, a figure that will prevent any desert criminal from escaping the Police. Weighing 1,500 kg, it can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, while its top speed stands at 320 km/h.

From my humble point of view, there is a difference between owning fast, powerful vehicles with which to catch individuals who break the law, and having a considerable fleet of luxury supercars that together far exceed two million euros. With the money invested in the Aston Martin, the Dubai government could have bought more than ten Nissan GT-Rs, a model that is faster than the English vehicle in any circumstance.

What will the next purchase be? A Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse? Place your bets.

Hace falta ser tonto para desprestigiar tanto una marca. Yo tengo un coche de estos y no me haría ni puñetera gracia que la poli utilizase lo mismo.
