Electra Quds Rise, the first electric car to come from Lebanon
The company was founded four years ago and, after designing and developing this electric model, has just presented it with the aim of manufacturing 10,000 units per year.

Innovations in the world of electric cars mean that many entrepreneurs want to enter a market that is increasingly powerful and attractive. For that reason, it is no surprise that proposals are arriving from countries that do not usually offer cars. Lebanon is one of these countries, and from there comes a car that has a strong influence from Arab culture and that aims to position itself in the international market.
The Electra Quds Rise has an image that seeks to evoke several elements of Islamic culture and has been promoted by Palestinian entrepreneur Jihad Mohammed, who founded the company four years ago. During this time he has been working on the design and development of the model, which is expected to reach the market in 2022. The entrepreneur hopes to have a production of 10,000 units per year, so this is a fairly ambitious project.

Arab influences for a potential buyer
The influences of the entrepreneur’s culture are apparent from the car’s name, which comes from the Arabic name of Jerusalem, al-Quds. The two-seater features a front grille based on the Islamic shrine of the Dome of the Rock in the Old City of Jerusalem. Besides this design inspiration, the Electra Quds Rise features a prominent diffuser and triangular headlights with LED technology, which is also present in the turn signals.

The tyres, 235/45 and 255/40 tyres, fitted at the front and rear respectively, are mounted on 18-inch alloy wheels. According to information provided by the company, the aluminium chassis offers a light and efficient weight for electric mobility.
As for the interior, we find digital instrumentation in front of the driver and a large 15.9-inch portrait-oriented screen for controlling the vehicle’s infotainment system.
Battery and electric motor
In terms of electric drive, it has a single motor mounted on the rear axle delivering a power output equivalent to 160 CV. The lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 50 kWh, offering a range of around 450 kilometres on a single charge.
Orders can already be placed, and the price is expected to be around 25,000 euros. Deliveries are planned for 2022. In addition to this model, the company wants to launch other models in the coming years, such as a saloon called Quds Capital ES, another sports model known as Quds Nostrum EE, and a retro-inspired electric taxi, the eCab.
