Within the electric vehicle market we find many brands that are focusing on offering new vehicles designed to provide the best features for drivers. Some of these brands did not exist a few years ago and are now beginning to become popular and to show off the capabilities of their vehicles. DR Automobiles is one of those brands and presents the EVO sub-brand with affordable electric vehicles.

The EVO3 is an electric car that aims to position itself in the European market, in the B-SUV segment, so it will soon arrive in Spain as well. The price of this small SUV will be in the region of 36,000 euros, very affordable for what the model offers. The model was launched last year and it is only now that it is reaching the Spanish market to win a slice of the electric mobility cake in our country.

A small-sized SUV

The EVO3 has a length of 4.13 metres, a width of 1.75 metres and a height of 1.56 metres. The wheelbase is 2.49 metres, which gives a spacious interior. The boot offers 250 litres, although the rear seats can offer much more space when folded. They can be folded in a 60:40 split, so there are several ways to gain more cargo space.

When it comes to on-board technology, this model has LED daytime running lights, a 360º camera and an eight-inch screen to control the infotainment system. It also allows connectivity with mobile phones and includes a package of driver assistance systems. There are not many customisation options, but it is a simple car and, reportedly, pleasant to drive.

Battery and powertrain

The battery has been manufactured by Samsung and has a capacity of 40 kWh. This battery allows it to power the motor with an output of 85 kW, equivalent to 116 CV, and a maximum torque of 270 Nm. With these figures it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 12 seconds and reach a top speed of 130 km/h.

The range this model achieves with this equipment is 300 kilometres, according to the WLTP cycle. Charging the battery allows it to recover a full charge in eight hours, but using a fast-charging system it can recover from 15 to 80% in 40 minutes. The price is 36,387 euros, without grants or specific offers, and there is only one version available.
