Faraday Future teams up with LG to create more efficient batteries for its electric cars

Electric vehicles have two major handicaps to overcome: range and price. The batteries do not provide enough energy to be truly attractive to users, although this is being addressed at great speed, and there are increasingly better batteries and range has increased spectacularly in a very short time. As for price, the complex transmission systems make the final product more expensive, and the price is noticeably higher than that of a car with a traditional fuel engine.
To move forward in this area, that of increasing the range of cars and lowering the price thanks to the evolution of batteries, Faraday Future has allied with LG Chem to develop new batteries to be fitted in the future models of the innovative American brand based in Silicon Valley.

These batteries, which will be equipped with lithium-ion cells, will, according to both companies, offer the highest energy density ever seen in a battery intended for the automotive industry. The new batteries that come out of this alliance will be used to equip the new electric models that will roll out of the car manufacturer’s factory, but also of its owner, the Chinese company LeEco.
Together with LG Chem, the American company will not only focus on the physical development of the battery, but will also work to obtain the maximum performance from the company’s hardware to maintain its range and safety. Faraday Future relies on a good list of international suppliers to build its cars, since in its sights are the models of Tesla, the great winner in this market.
In fact, the next model of Faraday is designed to challenge the increasingly popular Model X from Tesla, so they are very interested in making its battery much more efficient and attractive to potential buyers so that they choose this future model over others. This car could be ready next year, so we will soon see whether the smart electric car market opens up to options other than the ubiquitous Tesla.
