Ferrari Classiche welcomes one of Steve McQueen's cars
One of the vehicles once owned by Steve McQueen, a Ferrari 275 GTB4, has been restored and taken to Italy to obtain one of the most sought-after certificates for the brand’s classics: the Ferrari Classiche originality certificate.

Ferrari is set to return to its original state one of the vehicles once owned by the late actor Steve McQueen, which was bought new in 1968. The model in question, a 275 GTB4 , has changed hands several times and has had modifications that are not the car’s original period specifications.
Since collecting historic cars is quite an investment as well as an expensive hobby, its current owner has sent it to Italy, to Ferrari Classiche, so that the car could obtain the coveted certificate of originality, which would further increase its value on the market.
The amount paid for the full restoration (which includes the handcrafted manufacture of the coupé roof, since it was cut to be converted into a Spyder) and for obtaining the certificate has not been disclosed, but at the values currently seen for Ferrari classics , it seems advisable and almost an investment that would be most recommendable.
For reference, and to give an idea of the level of money needed to even get close to the most demanding collector circles, the prices these cars can reach are telling: a few days ago a 250 GTO built specially for Stirling Moss sold for 35 million dollars, a record-breaking figure.
