Ferrari handed over its auctioned 599XX Evo in Monza

In Monza, the Scuderia Ferrari handed over a unit auctioned for the victims of the earthquake in Italy.

When a terrible earthquake struck Italy a few months ago, the management of Ferrari decided to auction a 599XX EVO and donate all the proceeds to the victims of this natural disaster. Well, this past weekend, before the Monza Grand Prix, their prized racing car was handed over to Benjamin Sloss, a Google executive.

Auctioned some time ago, both Mr. Sloss’s wife and he paid more than 1.4 million euros (1.8 million dollars) for a unique, one-off example made to measure. It was handed over personally to the Californian native by Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo, as well as Scuderia drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa.

Unlike the rest of the examples, this unit with race number 512 is painted in a yellow colour to match the wheels. The rear spoiler features two American flags in honour of its owner, one on each side of the vehicle.

The performance of this hypercar is one of the best-kept secrets. The only thing known is that a lighter variant called the 599XX features a naturally aspirated V12 engine with more than 750 CV of power and a very light, resilient body. Thanks to its powerful engine, the model was capable of lapping the Nürburgring Nordschleife in just 6:58.16.
