Ferrari Roma Tailor Made: a one-of-a-kind creation with design elements inspired by Japanese tradition
Ferrari and its exclusive Tailor Made personalisation programme have created this unique edition of the Ferrari Roma, designed by the North American publication COOL HUNTING

The latest creation from the Cavallino brand and its bespoke personalisation programme is the Ferrari Roma Tailor Made, a unique edition personalised by the prestigious North American design publication COOL HUNTING, combining the brand’s genuine Italian design with elements of Japanese inspiration.
The story of this creation began after several research trips to Japan by the founders of COOL HUNTING, who met with Flavio Manzoni, Ferrari’s Head of Design, at the Ferrari Tailor Made showroom in New York, where the ideas of Evan Oresten and Josh Rubin were brought to life in a Ferrari Roma.
Its elegant colour
The first distinctive element of this creation is the vivid blue exterior paint, inspired by traditional Japanese indigo dyes. It was created specifically for this unit and named Indigo Metal, perfectly highlighting the elegant and athletic lines of the Roma.

Drawing on sakiori, an 18th-century process in which worn-out kimonos were unpicked to create new fabrics that are warm, comfortable and durable, an innovative solution was found for the interior of this Ferrari Roma Tailor Made. Two vintage kimonos made in Japan were used, their fabrics interwoven with high-strength nylon to upholster the roof.
The interior door handles also draw on Japan, having been wrapped in bands of hand-woven black leather as a tribute to tsukami, the ancient art of wrapping the hilts of katanas.

More special details
The gear selector inserts and the gear lever itself have been copper-plated, inspired by the copper tea caddies of a family firm established in Kyoto. The copper colour has also been chosen for the 20-inch wheels.
The centre armrest and door sills feature a bespoke kamon, a symbol passed down through generations in Japanese culture that represents the wheel of an ox-drawn cart, combined with the eight pistons of the Roma’s V8 engine to form the spokes.

A supercar in every sense
Lifting the bonnet, this Ferrari Roma Tailor Made features the same supercharged V8 engine producing 620 CV as the standard model, enabling a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h.
This very special and unique edition will be on display at the Ferrari Tailor Made showroom during New York Design Week, which runs until 20 May.
