Ferrari SP3JC: one-off convertible revealed, based on the F12 TDF

Ferrari has announced the arrival of a one-off known as SP3JC, developed from the F12 TDF but without a roof.

Rumours suggested that Ferrari might be considering a production convertible version of the 812 Superfast, but the Prancing Horse brand has gone further, turning to the F12 TDF to develop what they have named the SP3JC. This intriguing name belongs to a one-off, presented as a combination of the current 812 Superfast and the iconic F12 TDF, the most extreme version of the previous representative of Ferrari’s V12 range. Only one unit will exist in the world and, despite the scarce information provided by the Italian marque, we can assure you that it is one of the most special models ever built by Ferrari.

For this very important occasion, the company entrusted the development of the SP3JC to the special department Ferrari Styling Centre. This division of Ferrari is responsible for building its most exclusive models, which seek to differ completely from the brand’s production range, which is why it was the ideal candidate to bring this one-off to life.

It is true that owning a Ferrari is not within everyone’s reach, but the Cavallino brand values not only its customers’ purchasing power, but also their loyalty. This is the case of John Collins, owner of the acclaimed Talacrest dealership, specialised in buying and selling classic Ferraris, who showed his latest acquisition on his Instagram.

To gain the right to commission a one-off, one needs an impeccable history with Ferrari, a requirement Collins meets perfectly, since his garage houses some of the brand’s most iconic models. As the title suggests, this SP3JC is based on the F12 TDF, a limited edition of 799 units that ended the reign of the F12, the model it was derived from.

However, Ferrari has decided to use that base to develop the SP3JC, a model that also draws on certain features of the current 812 Superfast. In this way, we can find certain synergies between both models: the front end features lights very similar to those of the F12 TDF, but enhanced by thin transparent strips that allow a glimpse of the powerful V12 hidden within. We also notice a more aggressive and distinctive splitter, but it is at the rear where the DNA of the 812 stands out most, with tube-style lights very similar and a quad exhaust outlet announcing a chilling yet intoxicating storm.

For now, the performance of the Ferrari SP3JC remains a mystery to us, but given that it is based on the F12 TDF, we suspect they will share a heart. Thus, we could be talking about a powerful 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V12 capable of producing 780 CV and 705 Nm of torque, along with a glorious soundtrack, which will be enjoyed even more without a roof.
