Fiat Talent: a new class of recruits joins the National Police

The National Police usually relies on a single brand when it comes to the vehicles offered for its fleet. Right now several models form part of the force’s equipment, which are renewed periodically and offer great versatility and efficiency in police work. One of those models in the Spanish police fleet is the Fiat Talento.

This commercial vehicle from the Italian brand has been part of the National Police fleet for three years and, after a period of testing and evaluation, it has been confirmed as a good addition to the force’s resources. This year 39 new units of the Fiat Talento enter service, dressed in the force’s colors.

The chosen variant is the Fiat Talento Combi SX Largo 2.0 Ecojet 145 CV, which has interior dimensions well suited to the modifications needed so that it can efficiently perform its role. This interior space is complemented by compact exterior dimensions that allow it to move with ease through city streets for urban patrol duties.

This model is powered by a 4-cylinder, 2.0-litre engine with variable geometry turbo that delivers 145 CV. To improve fuel consumption and reduce pollutant emissions it uses a Stop & Start system with a 6-speed gearbox. With this equipment it meets the Euro 6 D standard, which makes it very practical for city driving.

As standard it comes with various systems that improve driving and make the vehicle easier to use. Dual-zone climate control between the front and rear; parking sensors and rear camera; rain sensor and automatic headlight activation; and cruise control are part of that standard equipment.

As for the elements specific to a police car, the van has been fitted with state-of-the-art optical-acoustic devices with LED technology and a video surveillance system with image recording, to support officers carrying out citizen security duties.
