Fifth Gear closes the season with a great comparison test

The final episode of season 18 of Fifth Gear gives us an interesting duel between the Audi TT RS, the Nissan 370Z Roadster and the Porsche Boxster S. Their drivers are Tiff Needell, Ben Collins (ex-Stig) and Jason Plato respectively.

To find out the final result it is best to watch the video, but first let’s get to know the contenders a little better.

The Audi TT RS in the test is fitted with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The price of this version is currently €64,500 (€64,980 with the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox). For that money you get a coupé with a 2.5-litre TFSI engine and 340 CV. Performance: 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds (4.3 seconds for the DSG) and a top speed limited to 250 km/h.

Next up is the Nissan 370 Roadster. With a base price of €53,350 it is clearly the cheapest of the trio. The car driven by Ben Collins has a 7-speed automatic gearbox and costs €2,400 more than the 6-speed manual. Its engine has 6 cylinders, 3.7 litres and 328 CV. The 0-100 km/h sprint takes 5.8 seconds (5.5 seconds for the manual) and its top speed is 254 km/h (262 km/h for the manual).

The Porsche Boxster S in the video has a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Its price is €68,661 (€64,745 with the 6-speed manual gearbox). In this case the engine is a 6-cylinder with 3.4 litres of displacement and 310 CV. The 0-100 km/h acceleration takes 5.2 seconds (5.0 seconds with PDK and Sport+, or 5.3 seconds with the manual gearbox). The top speed is 272 km/h (274 km/h for the manual).
