First images of the Series 7 facelift
Mercedes-Benz is preparing something very big for its new S-Class, which will arrive at the end of 2012 or the beginning of 2013. The 7 Series is already three years old and BMW must start working so that its rival does not catch it unprepared. These spy photos show that the Bavarians have already got going.
Aesthetically, it seems it will not change much. The headlights keep the same shape, but the indicator function will be taken over by a new upper strip of LED lights. It is to be expected that the use of LEDs for all lighting functions will also be available as an option. Will BMW keep the “Angel Eyes”?
The most important changes will not be seen, but they will be felt. You can expect engines with more power and lower consumption, that is, more efficient. The 740i will reach 350 CV (it currently has 326 CV), while the 750i will rise from its current 408 CV to 450 CV. It is not known whether BMW will keep the V12 of the 760i.
The debut of the renewed 7 Series is expected at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show (April). The presentation will also be an important opportunity for BMW to secure a good position in the lucrative Asian market.
