Auris Toyota Hybrid Cars Compact Salón de París
First official images of the new Toyota Auris
Toyota has released the official photos of the new Auris, specifically of the hybrid model.

After being spotted in several spy photos, the official unveiling of the new Toyota Auris has been a long time coming. Although we won’t see it in person until the next Paris Motor Show, the official photos released by the Japanese brand give us a good idea of what to expect. The Golf has a tough rival.
The photos you see are of the hybrid variant, perhaps the most anticipated one after the good success of the Auris HSD. It will share its technical platform with this model, along with Hybrid Synergy Drive. Initially, the engine will be the 1.8 with Atkinson cycle used in the previous generation, but, as several outlets say, there is no ruling out that it will be replaced by a 1.6. What will remain the same is the CVT gearbox. The batteries will switch from lithium to nickel-metal hydride.
The rest of the engines will be split between two petrol variants and one diesel. The latter will be the 1.4 shared with BMW. As for the petrol models, there will be the 1.3 and 1.6 engines.
This generation will be lighter and more fun to drive. It weighs up to 40 kilos less. It measures 4275 mm long, 1760 mm wide and 1460 mm high. The boot has grown by six litres, reaching 360. In the hybrid model it will be 127 litres.
As I said before, we will be able to see it in person in just over a month at the Paris Motor Show. By the way, in case you didn’t remember, it will be built at the Derbyshire plant in the United Kingdom.
