First spy photos of the Mercedes-Benz BLS
Mercedes-Benz wants to give a little brother to the CLS and for that reason, in 2013, it will give birth to a new model, the BLS. It will be a small four-door coupé that will take on the Series 2 of BMW. The guys at Worldcarfans have obtained the first images of the subject, still in an embryonic stage.
It is not certain that it will be named BLS, since this name was used by Cadillac for one of its saloons and, although that one turned out to be a tremendous failure, everyone knows that there is always an appetite for litigation (see Ford versus Ferrari over the F150 name).
Names aside, the BLS will use the same MFA platform as the future A-Class and B-Class, that is, it will be front-wheel drive. In fact, since it will be practically a B-Class saloon, the engine range will mirror that of the B-Class. Among others, we can expect a 2-litre petrol with 203 CV and a 2.2-litre diesel with 172 CV.
The prototype in the images wears a magnificent camouflage, but it does not prevent us from guessing some of its main styling features. Little more is known about this new model, but the floodgates are already open.
