Ford Adapta Tour 2025: electric and inclusive mobility arriving to break down barriers
A vehicle can change a life. Ford knows this, which is why it is touring Spain with its new fleet of cars adapted for people with disabilities
The mobility of the future will not only be electric, it will also be inclusive. With this purpose, the Ford Adapta Tour 2025 gets underway, a pioneering initiative that, in its eleventh edition, once again travels the Spanish roads carrying a powerful message: accessible mobility is a right, not a privilege.
Organised by Ford Spain, in collaboration with the Fundación ONCE and Rehatrans, the tour was presented in Madrid on 21 May and promises to become, once again, a megaphone for inclusion. Its proposal goes far beyond cars: it combines innovation, accessibility and a strong emotional charge that will make anyone put themselves in the shoes of people with reduced mobility.

The star: the adapted Ford Tourneo Custom
Among the star vehicles of the tour stands out the new Ford Tourneo Custom adapted by Rehatrans, a proposal with no rival on the market. Available in plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and diesel versions, this Tourneo has been designed with the real needs of people with reduced mobility in mind.
Its strong point? It allows passengers to travel alongside their companion, something that is not common in vehicles adapted for public services. The modular and flexible interior layout can accommodate up to nine passengers, or a person in a wheelchair and five companions, all with a first-class level of safety and comfort.

Its adaptation includes a swivelling ramp, extra-long electric restraint systems, swivel seats, specific lighting and an interior height of 1.40 metres, complying with the demanding UNE, ISO and DIN standards. A solution designed for both private use and professional use (ideal for taxis or VTC).

Rock, inclusion and engine: a different presentation
The opening event was not just a showcase of engineering. It was also an inclusion celebration. It was attended by Jesús Alonso, president of Ford Spain, Jesús Hernández of Fundación ONCE, and authorities such as Raquel Beteta of the Getafe City Council.
As the grand finale, the group Rock A LA PAR performed, made up of people with intellectual disabilities, demonstrating that music is also a vehicle for integration.
“This tour not only showcases technology and electrification, it also reflects our commitment to a more inclusive society”, said Jesús Alonso.

Adapta 2025: more than cars, real commitment
In addition to the Tourneo Custom, the Ford Adapta Tour 2025 presents an adapted range of vehicles that includes models such as the Mustang Mach-E Adapta, 100% electric, equipped with a “puño-moto” (motorcycle-style grip) driving system and an electric swivel seat; and the E-Transit Adapta, a versatile commercial vehicle with a rear lift, configurable floor and space optimised for people with reduced mobility.
The tour will visit various official dealerships across Spain, where attendees will be able to test the vehicles, receive personalised advice and get a close look at the real possibilities of adapted and sustainable mobility.
More than two decades of commitment to inclusion
This project is part of the Ford CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) strategy, active in Spain for more than 20 years, with actions that include corporate volunteering, support for vulnerable groups and projects such as the Prueba Solidaria.

In parallel, the Fundación ONCE continues to lead the transformation towards a more equitable society, promoting access to employment, training and universal accessibility.
Why follow the Ford Adapta Tour 2025?
-
Because inclusive mobility is the future.
-
Because it shows that technology can improve real lives.
-
Because accessibility should not be an option, but a standard.
-
And because behind the wheel, everyone deserves the same opportunities.
