Ford begins deliveries of its F-150 Lightning pickup in Norway

For the time being, everything suggests that the availability of the F-150 Lightning on the continent will be limited to European countries outside the European Union, as is the case of Norway and also Switzerland

Almost a year ago, in April 2023, the American manufacturer surprised everyone by announcing that the marketing of its new F-150 Lightning electric pickup would not be limited to the North American market, but would also extend to Europe and more specifically to Norway. The company justified that decision at the time by saying that many of its customers in this Scandinavian country had even begged them to sell them one.

Ten months after that announcement, the F-150 Lightning is already in the hands of some of the brand’s European customers, as revealed by Jim Farley, CEO of Ford, himself.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Farley said he was thrilled that some of his customers had started receiving the first units of this electric pickup. In fact, he even personally congratulated Dag and Angela, a Norwegian couple who have had the honour of receiving the first F-150 Lightning in that country.

The Norwegians are not the only lucky ones

Norway is, moreover, not the only European country where the electric pickup of the blue oval brand has already arrived. Over the last few weeks, deliveries of the F-150 Lightning also began in Switzerland, where some fortunate customers have already started posting images on social media showing them enjoying their new vehicles.

The F-150 Lightning from Ford has four electric motors, one per wheel, capable of delivering a combined 337 kW of power, with 1,050 Nm of torque. It also features a 98 kWh battery pack with which the manufacturer claims it is possible to cover almost 400 km on a single charge. The large dimensions and weight of this beast are no obstacle, however, to reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in under five seconds, leaving most combustion-engine pickups it competes with looking ridiculous in this respect.
