Ford GT40 Mk I for sale at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance
At the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, one of the original Ford GT 40 Mk I cars will be auctioned, with a possible price of nearly 3 million dollars.

While we are not heading toward another classic car sales record (because for that we already have last year’s case of the Ferrari Testa Rossa), it is clear that simply being auctioned at the aristocratic Concours d’Elegance of Pebble Beach will bring a stratospheric price. We are talking about the Ford GT40 Mk I, one of the 31 models built for the road, in the shadow of the Ford GTs from Le Mans.
This model that will be auctioned was built in December 1966 and at one point belonged to the recently deceased Carroll Shelby, in addition to having been used by Ford as a showroom car. Besides such illustrious owners, it has been owned by two investors who kept it as a treasure while waiting for the right moment to sell it.
The condition of these cars is truly striking, as it is as it was when new or even better. It has fewer than 8,000 kilometres on the original odometer, and it is believed it will reach a price of between 2,300,000 and 2,700,000 dollars, although the figure at which the bidding will start for this true jewel has not been mentioned.
