Ford Tourneo Custom Concept and its world debut in Geneva

Ford presents the fun version with more and better finishes of the Ford Transit 1-tonne, the Tourneo Custom Concept.

The Ford Tourneo Custom Concept previews the launch of a new family of Ford Transit one-tonne commercial vehicles for carrying 8 or 9 people, in the European and Asian markets, with equipment typical of a passenger car.

The new equipment includes a completely new interior design, focused on the driver and a luxurious full upholstery that offers the ambience and materials of a modern passenger car. The Concept also features a series of innovations, including rear multi-adjustable and removable seats, the voice-activated SYNC integrated connectivity system with an Emergency Assistance system, and ECOnetic technology.

The Tourneo Custom Concept showcases a bold rising line at the rear and flush-fitting windows, a new trapezoidal grille, a more sculpted rear line, with pronounced wheel arches. All of this is complemented by other styling details such as LED lighting in the nose and the new 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the design refinements applied by the Ford team meet more than generous rear seats, easily folded into multiple configurations, suited to work or leisure use.

Among the intelligent equipment included in the concept are Start/Stop, the voice-activated SYNC integrated connectivity system, emergency assistance via SYNC, driver, passenger, side and curtain airbags, rear-view camera integrated into the interior rear-view mirror, and Lane Change Warning and Driver Alert.

This concept will be powered by an improved 155 CV version of the Duratorq TDCi 2.2 diesel engine family from Ford and will form part of the brand’s global platform, geared towards commercial vehicles with a more leisure-oriented use.
