From Italy, the Tirrito Ayrton

A strange presentation for a model that claims to be an “Italian super sports car”. Tirrito Cars from Italy unveils its latest models: the S, R and T. The S, the most extreme model in the range, is said to feature a V10 engine and a six-speed gearbox, while the T is already based on a more mundane V8.

We went to the brand’s official website to find out more and came across some further technical specifications: the V10 engine produces 627 CV, and the V8s deliver 500 CV. In between sits the T model, a more relaxed version of the V10, with 550 CV.

It seems the little-known brand was created by Andrea Tirrito, a true mechanical handyman who built exact replicas of the Williams FW-18 and the McLaren MP14 before embarking on his own car brand, with engines perhaps sourced from Audi?

What draws the most attention is the design of the Tirrito cars themselves, truly unpleasant. The front still has something worth salvaging, despite the strange protrusions that serve as the lights, and the rear end is frankly hideous.

Nevertheless, the Tirrito cars are moving forward and will be presented no less than at the Top Marques Monaco in 2010. One hopes the first Tirrito will be just a prototype and that its design will be refined a little further.
