From Canada, the company De Macross Motor Corp. has unveiled the first sketches of a supercar that they have named De Macross GT1, a supercar in which they have placed great hopes, so much so that they claim that once on the market it will be on a par with the Pagani Zonda R or the Maserati MC12

This model is supposedly due to be unveiled at the end of 2011, a date we will have to mark on the calendar, since until then the only thing we can see of this model is the list of photos scattered throughout this post.

Among the most relevant details of this model, perhaps we should highlight elements such as its chassis, made entirely of carbon fibre and aluminium, as well as an intelligent Multimatic suspension inherited from Formula 1, features that are within reach of very few and that should make us start to trust this model.

As for the mechanics, the company has only revealed the inclusion of a 5.4-litre supercharged V8 engine built by Roush Yates Engines, the company responsible for manufacturing, for example, the Ford engines for NASCAR, another point in the car’s favour, although its power output and final performance are still unknown.

Finally, we can only say that De Macross Motor Corp. plans to begin selling the model in 2012, approximately, with an initial run of 200 units at a price yet to be announced, a price that will surely not be cheap and with which it will have to compete with other great supercars on the market.
