Following the DS3 Citroën, the brand has officially presented the second model in the range, DS, the DS4. This new model is inspired by the Citroën DS High-Rider concept, which we saw at the previous Geneva Motor Show. With a height of 1.53 metres, a length of about 4.27 and a width of 1.81, it offers a compact coupé with a certain sporty look.

One of the strong points of the DS4’s design lies in the rear door handles, since they are hidden within the window frame, which gives it a more radical appearance. Citroën also claims that the rear seats can comfortably accommodate three people, and that it has a 370-litre boot.

Alongside a very attractive exterior design with sporty tones, Citroën also insists, as the images show, on the quality of its materials. The interior features a panoramic windscreen that provides greater clarity inside the cabin and that is already fitted to other models such as the C4 Picasso. In addition, it will be available in up to five different leather combinations, including some with two-tone finishes.

As for the engines, the DS4 will be offered with three petrol engines and two diesels. The petrol units will be the 1.6 VTi producing 120 hp, and two 1.6 THP, one capable of reaching 155 hp and another that reaches 200 hp. In its diesel versions, it will feature two HDI units of 110 hp and 160 hp. The first of these adds micro-hybrid technology that switches the engine off when stationary, which means it can save up to 15% of fuel in urban driving.

All these engines are available with a manual or automatic gearbox, both with six gears. Regarding performance and consumption, nothing official is known yet, except that the 200 hp THP engine will consume around 6.4 litres per 100 km.

In terms of technology, the DS4 is not short of features, adding items such as emergency call and cornering lights… It also has a function that warns of unintentional lane departure if there are vehicles in the blind spot of the mirror, which extends from 5 metres behind the rear bumper to 3.5 metres to the sides of the vehicle. This system works whenever we are driving between 12 km/h and 140 km/h.

Finally, as for price, equipment level…, we will have to wait until the Paris Motor Show, where it will be presented to the media.
