Furtive-eGT: an electric vehicle that outperforms the rest

Electrically powered cars are not yet the norm, although manufacturers are working hard to improve the technology and are developing increasingly powerful and efficient models, such as the Furtive-eGT that will be shown in London this month

Alternative energies for powering the cars that are gradually arriving are still very limited for now. We have already seen that engines powered by Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) have room for improvement and that electricity still has not quite taken off. But these technologies are still in development and are making great strides that we are gradually seeing.

The new Furtive-eGT, a fully electric model from the French company Exagon Motors, which heralds a new stage in the development of cars powered by this energy source. At least, as far as high-end cars are concerned, which is the category this sports car belongs to.

The model uses two electric motors manufactured by Siemens, each rated at 148 kW, giving a total output of 400 CV. The power of these two motors takes the Furtive-eGT from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, a figure that is certainly nothing to be sniffed at. Its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

However, the manufacturer says its real top speed can reach 287 km/h. It uses a three-speed automatic gearbox and is expected to be faster and more efficient than, for example, the Tesla Model S, a car that could compete in the same segment as the French vehicle.

The battery range of the Furtive-eGT is around 400 km, always depending on the driving style used on the journey. The car’s total weight is 1,650 kg and it uses a carbon fibre body that weighs just 124 kg, which helps make the most of its power, down to 4.08 kg/CV.

The car can be seen in London during the Salute to Style event at the Hurlingham Club on July 17 to 19. We don’t yet have images from that event, and since the car has already been seen at previous motor shows, we are offering you some images of this car, which aims to bring something new to the topic of electric propulsion.
