Geely Vision Startburst Concept, the new face of the Chinese brand
This concept model will be ready to present technological novelties, previewing the new design language of the brand’s future models.

The popular Chinese brand Geely, which also owns Volvo, has unveiled what will be the new design image of the future models it will launch in the coming months. The Geely Vision Starbust Concept will not become a production model, but it does preview some of the design details that those future vehicles will feature.
The Vision Starbust is based on the new design language Expanding Cosmos, which draws inspiration from “stellar phenomena where bright nebulae and magnificent elements come together, merging, fusing and ultimately bursting into new stars“, as the brand explains. A design that aims to offer a very special image for these new models, open to the immensity of space and the effects it produces.

A five-door saloon
This concept model is presented as a five-door saloon. Its sporty image is enhanced by the roofline that drops from the rear doors. This look is reinforced by wheels designed to resemble efficient turbines. In the front wheel arches, what appear to be LED lights show the state of charge, so it is anticipated that this is an electric car.

The front end has a curious design dominated by a honeycomb-shaped grille. The light signature is formed by a line of LED lights that extends across the front and rises vertically along the edges. It has no headlights, and in the area where they would normally be, there are the sensors and cameras for the driver assistance systems.
At the rear, light clusters made of thin LED light strips in a boomerang shape frame the rear window and blend into the side fins. Both sides are joined by a thin LED line that creates an interesting visual effect across the tailgate’s waistline.
The front doors have butterfly-style opening, and the rear doors open the same way but towards the rear. This offers very wide access to the interior, without a pillar between the two doors. Inside we find two screens. One of them unfolds behind the steering wheel to display the instrumentation, and the other screen is located on the vertically positioned centre console.
The ambient lighting is made up, among other elements, of a light effect called “Cosmic Rays” that gives the cabin a futuristic touch. It runs along the upper part of the dashboard and the door panels. It changes colour and offers a very interesting view of the interior.
As we already know it will not be seen as a production vehicle, it will serve as a showcase of the design language the brand intends to use for its upcoming models. We may see some of these elements in future models and be able to enjoy the technical and technological innovations presented in this concept.
