GlassTesla: Google Glass app that lets you interact with the Tesla S

Neither Tesla Motors itself, nor Google, nor even any other brand had set out to design an application that could manage certain data from a vehicle through Google Glass, one of the most recent technological devices in existence. But a Google Glass developer has hit the nail on the head, and it is now possible to have a kind of first HUD for the Tesla S, provided you own the famous Google glasses.
Developer Sahas Katta has managed to adapt the application available for the Tesla S to Google Glass, so you can see how much charge the batteries have, start or stop charging, or remotely open the car’s charging port. You can also locate the car on a map, in case we ever “lose” it, and switch the lights on and off. You can check whether the doors or the boot are closed, and lock and unlock the car remotely.
The application was developed through reverse engineering of the original application for Tesla on Android. Although no new functionality has been added to the original features, Sahas Katta promises more and better features for the new application; future versions could bring voice control for functions such as locking and unlocking the vehicle or obtaining detailed reports on the car.
We can’t say we know many friends or people who own a Tesla S and a pair of Google Glass, but at least the application is available for download. I imagine this kind of technology management under Google Glass is only just beginning, not only for Tesla but for other brands as well. Of course, that is, if Tesla or Google don’t put some kind of copyright obstacle in the way in the future.
