GM's upcoming mini SUV in Death Valley

Lovely weather (around 50 degrees Celsius in Death Valley) for GM to take out for a spin the mini SUV based on the Sonic, which has begun to take shape under the watchful eye of spy photographers.

The trend in the North American market is that people are starting to realise that smaller cars with four-cylinder engines are just as efficient as, or even more efficient than, V6 or V8 units. The “Sonic SUV” demonstrates this, with a size that is even smaller than a Cruze.

The new model would be sold worldwide under the Chevrolet brand or Opel in Europe. It could easily compete with the Nissan Juke, although to be honest they haven’t exactly reinvented the wheel. For years Ford has had the EcoSport in a almost similar segment, on sale in America.
