Ford GT Curiosities Sports Cars
GTR-1 by Galpin Auto Sports
One of the most famous Ford dealerships in the world, Galpin, is going to create another special model. A sports car based on the Ford GT, called the GTR-1, with an announced engine output of more than 1,000 horsepower.

From the 1960s and well into the 1980s, it was common for dealerships that sold the vehicles of one brand to also prepare series and special editions, which could only be bought at that dealership. This strategy has proven very profitable for those who bought those cars in those days, since some now fetch millions of dollars in the classic car market.
Among these dealerships, which had a vision that went far beyond simply selling cars, we highlight Galpin, one of the most traditional Ford dealerships in the USA, which opened its doors in 1946. This dealership has offered special editions of almost all Ford models, the most notable of which is the Shelby Cobra.

We arrive at the present day, and Galpin (now with its own division called Galpin Auto Sports) once again wants to create a new special model. This time they have chosen the Ford GT as the base, for what will be the future GTR-1, a beast with more than 1,000 horsepower according to what has been announced. The model would be launched in two versions, one with an aluminum body and the other made of carbon fiber. The cabin will be designed exclusively by the buyer, so no two GTR-1s will be exactly alike.
The project for this future sports car has taken off and is still in its early stages, but we can offer you two images so you have an idea of what the model will look like. The truth is that, although we are talking about a sports car that will be very rare and borders on a mere curiosity, those who enjoy exotic, rare and handcrafted models will have to keep an eye on what Galpin Auto Sports has to offer. The photos are promising.
