Gumpert announces 2 versions of the new Apollo Sport for the Geneva Motor Show

The German sports car manufacturer has announced that it will bring two Apollo Sport (the competition variant) to the next Geneva Motor Show, in black and white, which will showcase the new technology it has developed. The new generation of the Apollo, which will also debut at the show and for which there are no images yet, will stand out for its greater use of carbon fibre and improvements in aerodynamics, and it will also be the first Gumpert product to be manufactured with the right-hand-drive steering wheel.
Starting with the mechanical updates, the engine of the Gumpert Apollo Sport produces 750 CV of power, 50 more than before, thanks to the new cooling systems and recirculation valves, among other components. This also translates into an incredible ratio of 180 CV per litre. However, to deliver that power to the road properly, the gearbox, inspired by those of Formula 1, has been reworked, with shorter gear ratios, as well as new steering-wheel controls.
On the outside, Gumpert says the new Apollo Sport will have a more aggressive front and rear end to reduce the drag coefficient, and the headlights will include LEDs with daytime running function. Other changes include a longer monocoque and increased pedal adjustment range, which will help improve interior comfort.
It will also feature a new exhaust system with a louder sound and a higher-quality audio system with CD/DVD playback. As for the competition-oriented upgrades, the CIMA gearbox offers greater durability in long-distance races, and a rear light has been added for these events.
