Hertz adds the Shelby GT-H to its rental fleet
Shelby GT-H
This summer, lucky travellers visiting Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Washington, will have the chance to rent the new Shelby GT-H Mustang. It is already available for rental in an exclusive limited edition within the Adrenaline Collection. It is a pity that in Spain or the rest of Europe Hertz does not offer this rental option.
The first time the car rental company included a Shelby Mustang as part of its “Rent-A-Racer” programme was in 1966. It was the result of the collaboration between Hertz and Carroll Shelby, as they considered that regular drivers and car enthusiasts should have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a high-performance vehicle. At that time the model chosen was the Shelby GT350-H, which today is a car highly prized by collectors.
In 2006 the companies joined forces again for the 40th anniversary, paying tribute to the Shelby GT-H edition. Now they have come together once more to present the Ford Shelby GT-H to mark the 50th anniversary of “Rent-A-Racer”. The Adrenaline Collection offers a wide variety of high-performance sports cars with which customers can experience new thrills. The Dream, Green and Prestige collections are also available at Hertz.
Shelby GT-H
The Ford Shelby GT-H 2016 will be available for rental through the Adrenaline Collection at 17 airports in the USA: Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Fla., Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, Orlando, Seattle, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Calif., and Phoenix.
The Ford Shelby GT-H features a powerful 5.0-litre V8 engine producing 435 CV. It is equipped with the Ford Performance cat-back exhaust system with chrome tips for a much deeper sound. It also includes the Ford Racing Handling Package, which comprises sport dampers, shorter springs, anti-roll bars and a set of staggered wheels.
It has a distinctive colour characteristic of this special version. Each Shelby GT-H carries black exterior paint with gold stripes, and a distinctive Hertz emblem dating back to the 1920s. The dual “Le Mans” stripes are combined with a set of stripes that include the special “Shelby GT-H” nomenclature. Each car also carries the Hertz emblem on the front fenders, and the characteristic Hertz Shelby GT-H sill plates and numbered plate.
The special badges are located on the front grille, the rear cover and the boot door. Inside, the Shelby GT-H logos are found on the headrest, the sill plates and the floor mats.
