Honda Gear Concept: Is this the next generation of the Fit?

Right now most of the car world has its eyes on the Detroit Show, but not far from there another show has caught the attention of Honda. And so Honda did not go to Detroit to present its Gear Concept, but did so where nobody expected: in Montreal.
The Gear Concept is a city car that follows the norm of most latest-generation city cars aimed at the younger buyer, connected at all times and a user of the latest technologies. And although from the definition of the car I’ve just given you it may not seem very fun, Honda claims it will be, and we noticed a couple of interesting things about this concept.

Something that looks like four exhaust outlets at the rear catches the eye, right in the middle of the diffuser. I don’t mean this means it will be a city dweller with sporty airs, but we see that the design is not far from flowing, rounded lines with an interesting line of glass rising towards the back. It doesn’t suggest a sports car, but it does suggest a city car that may well be fun.

The Japanese brand has not wanted to give more details; most likely we are looking at a concept without an engine. What it has communicated is that the concept is configurable and will be economical. What the Honda executives have not said is whether the Gear Concept could become the next generation of the Fit, given that they presented in Detroit a compact MPV based on the Fit.
