Honda is already accepting orders for the 2015 NSX

Honda UK has announced that is already accepting orders for the second generation of the NSX. The model, for which more than 20 formal orders have already been placed, is still at the Concept Car stage, and the Japanese firm will not begin manufacturing the sports car until early 2015.

If you want to be one of the first to drive your own Honda-Acura NSX, you will need to pay £5,000 sterling (€5,850 at the current exchange rate). The British subsidiary has not yet disclosed the final price of the model, nor even its performance or features, although the latter has not stopped potential customers from placing a deposit.

At the start of the 1990s, when production of the first generation of the NSX began, Honda had also received a total of 25 deposits from the United Kingdom, a year before its future owners received their respective sports cars. That is why we should not be surprised by the decision taken at Honda. Surely they will surprise us.

“We are very pleased with the interest we have already seen in the new NSX,” said Phil Crossman, Managing Director of Honda UK. “We are still two years away from the car going on sale and yet we have already received more than 20 orders. With this process we are confident that demand will remain strong.”

The new Honda NSX will be built at a production plant of the Honda group in central Ohio, United States. In addition, this sports car will feature the Honda Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system, delivering to the rear wheels the power of a direct-injection V6 petrol engine, with the rest coming from two electric motors. The seven-speed transmission will use two automatic clutches.
